Kenneth Ling received his MChem from the University of Oxford in 2005 where he then stayed to complete a DPhil with Prof. Steve Davies working on methods for the stereoselective cyclopropanation of allylic amines. This was followed by a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the University of St Andrews with Prof. Andy Smith working on pericyclic cascade reactions and NHC-organocatalysis.
Kenneth then joined the Weed Control Chemistry department at Syngenta in Jealott’s Hill, UK. He has held various positions within Syngenta involving scientific, project and people leadership. In his current role he is Head of Weed Control Lead Generation, focusing on the early stages of hit discovery for the next generation of herbicides. Kenneth has a strong interest in external engagement and collaboration with academia.
