Andrew Dominey has worked in Chemical Development at GSK since 2006, designing and implementing large scale manufacturing routes to active pharmaceutical ingredients. In this time, he has become involved in many successful academic collaborations in the field of sustainable catalysis, including a longstanding partnership with the University of Edinburgh. This work has led to several high impact publications on the activation of earth-abundant metal catalysts, their use in (for example) hydroboration and CH-borylation processes and progress towards broad applicability of these methods for the general practitioner equipped with standard laboratory reagents and apparatus.
