ABOUT
Guy Lloyd-Jones FRS is the Forbes Professor of Organic Chemistry at the University of Edinburgh, and has decades of experience in physical organic chemistry, kinetics and mechanism, especially in relation to borylated compounds. Guy has published >185 papers, delivered >270 lectures, received more than 30 prizes, medals, named lectureships, fellowships and professorships, and an honorary doctorate, and has secured >£14M funding as PI (from EPSRC, ERC, RS, Industry). He is an Associate Editor for Journal of the American Chemical Society, and an Arthur C Cope Scholar.
Guy has experience in senior management and leadership positions at Bristol and at Edinburgh, and has been a member of 2021 REF panel B 2021, Chair of RSC Physical Organic Group, on the Scientific Committee of ESOC (2003-2011; president 2005-2007), and the external member of the Swiss Chemical Society Awards Committee (2015-2022). He currently serves as a consultant to a range of pharmaceutical, agrochemical, and fine chemical industries in Japan, France, UK, and the USA, and is a Trustee of the Murdoch Charitable Trust (SC004031).
